UTM Examples for SaaS Landing Pages

Connect paid, content, partner, and event traffic to trial, demo, and product campaigns.

For a paid social trial campaign:

utm_source=linkedin&utm_medium=paid_social&utm_campaign=trial_q4&utm_content=demo_video

For a partner webinar:

utm_source=partner_acme&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=webinar_security&utm_content=registration

Keep the landing-page goal visible in the campaign plan, but do not put every product detail into the UTM value. Use the BestUTM builder to generate the link set.

Track the business action, not only the visit

Use UTM values to group acquisition traffic, then connect them to the action that matters: trial start, demo request, signup completion, or qualified lead. The campaign name should remain understandable to both marketing and sales.

Keep landing-page variants in content when they support the same initiative.

Before publishing

Check that the destination page is the one intended for this audience and that the final URL contains the same values shown in the campaign plan. A link can be syntactically valid and still point to the wrong product, offer, or market.

Save the decision

Keep this pattern in a shared campaign document so the next person can create a matching link without guessing. The goal is not to create more parameters; it is to make the same reporting decision repeatable.

Example lifecycle view

A SaaS team may use one campaign for awareness content, another for demo generation, and another for expansion. The names should make the goal visible enough that marketing and sales can discuss the result using the same terms.

Keep product or audience variants in content when they are creative-level differences; create separate campaigns only when the business initiative differs.
